Concert Description:
This program features a colorful variety of musical styles including two rarely performed works. One is “A Fairy Tale” by British composer Frank Bridge, which portrays a captivating story of a prince, a princess, an ogre, and a spell. The other is a prelude and fugue by the renowned composer P.D.Q. Bach, A.K.A. Professor Peter Schikele, who wrote a collections of pieces entitled The Short-Tempered Clavier, in homage to - and poking just a little bit of fun at - his ancestor, the greatest of all Bachs, Johann Sebastian. Also featuring more familiar works by J.S. Bach, Haydn, and Grieg, this program is guaranteed to delight the audience.
